Inmate Resources
Bibles
Bible Distribution
The Holy Bible is the primary resource for an inmate's spiritual growth. Many inmates are indigent or unable to get a Bible while incarcerated. Forgotten Man Ministries provides, upon the request of an inmate, a Bible without any charge. These Bibles are regularly purchased and made available to our FMM chaplains in order to minister to Michigan county jail inmates.
Basic Bible Series
Basic Bible Series Books
Forgotten Man Ministries provides an inmate an opportunity to learn about God and His Word through a basic series of (non-cost to inmates) Bible correspondence courses. Beginning with an introduction course in Bible Study and leading up to intermediate courses work an inmate is able to consistenly study through our courses. The courses deal with the individual books of the Bible or topics that lead to significant spiritual growth. Thousands of inmates in our Michigan county jail are enrolled as students of God's Word. Each satifactorily completed course is awarded with a FMM certificate of completion and graded as well with an honor or highest honor sticker.
Advanced Bible Series
Advanced Bible Series Books
Spiritual growth and discipleship is the focus of our Bible study course series. The Advanced Bible Series enables inmates to move into deeper truths of God's Word. These courses were developed at a Bible college level and enable the growing student to lock away the fundamentals of the Christian faith. These courses cost Forgotten Man Ministries about $8.00 each to forward to an inmate. Advanced courses are provided by the generosity of our Christian supporters who designate there gift(s) for this specific purpose. All of our ministry programs are available to Michigan county jail inmates because of the faithful and generous donations of our supporters.
Continuing Bible Series
Continuing Bible Series Books
Since 1979 Global Youth Evangelism has published the Christian Worker Bible Study Series. This discipleship material now covers every book in the Bible as well as various biblical themes. This study series is being used by Forgotten Man Ministries for ongoing Christian discipleship for inmates housed in jails and prisons throughout Michigan. Each study is in a workbook format that helps one dig deeper into the word of God and come away spiritually renewed, encouraged, and challenged! All materials and postage are provided non-cost to inmates through Forgotten Man Ministries. Volunteers are used to assist in correcting and grading courses on a daily basis.
Book Cart Supplies
Book Cart Supplies
Forgotten Man Ministries chaplains coordinate a book cart ministry in their jail, when permitted. Christian and wholesome books, magazines, tracts, booklets, along with pencils, paper, puzzles, etc. are taken out to inmates generally weekly via a book cart ministry. Chaplains and Associate Chaplains usually walk these carts through the jail or catwalks and allow inmates to select something of interest. The purpose of these carts is to demonstrate God's love for them and allow our chaplains to make future contacts with inmates. Often these contacts will lead to evangelistic counseling and ongoing personal discipleship. Chaplains will accept new and used donated materials for their book carts. Please contact the chaplain in your county if you are able to assist with this ministry.
